UPDATE: One driver taken to hospital after 2-vehicle crash on Route 7

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP)- UPDATE: 11/15/19 9:23 A.M.

One person was taken to the hospital after a crash Friday morning on Route 7 near Briggs Hill Road.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a commercial vehicle and a Ford F-150 pickup collided as the commercial vehicle was coming out of a private drive.

The pickup driver was taken to WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center, while the driver of the commercial vehicle was not hurt, the patrol said. Their names have not been released.

Troopers said a preliminary investigation indicated the commercial vehicle failed to yield, meaning the driver could be cited.

The crash closed the road for a short time while crews worked at the scene. Units from the Dunham Township Fire Department responded to the crash.

A truck was involved in an accident on Friday morning that slowed traffic down along Route 7 in Ohio.

The red Ford F-150 was stopped in the median towards the southbound side, just past Briggs Hill Road.

Traffic was able to pass through in the right lane, while the left lane near the truck was blocked off.

The Dunham Township Fire Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol were among those who responded to the accident.
