Fire damages apartment building in Spencer

SPENCER, W.Va. (WSAZ) - No serious injuries were reported in an apartment-building fire Monday night in Spencer.

Firefighters were called to the blaze on First Street about 8 p.m.

Mutual aid from Calhoun and Jackson counties was called in to assist firefighters from Roane County. As many as 50 firefighters fought the fire.

According to a reporter for WSAZ, a few firefighters suffered from temporary heat exhaustion while fighting the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
