VIENNA, W.Va.=(WTAP) A two-home in Vienna is a total loss, after it is engulfed by fire late Saturday morning.
The Vienna Volunteer Fire Department was called out to the home on 21st Street just after 11:30 A.M.
It not only damaged that structure, but it also caused damage to the siding of a neighboring home.
Fire Chief Steve Scholl says no one was inside the home struck by fire at the time.
Larry Muller, who owns the neighboring home, says he saw the fire just after it broke out.
"At first, it looked like an artificial fireplace, then I looked over 5-10 seconds later, and already, the flames were going up the left-hand side of the wall," Muller told us. "By the time I got outside to call 911, the front window had already busted out and the flames were coming out the front window. As soon as it started, it went through the house pretty quick."
A dog died as a result of the fire, that was brought under control by 1 P.M.
Muller told us renovations on the home had just been completed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
