Former WTAP GM, local radio personality Sherman Grimm, passes away
Former long-time WTAP general manager and local radio personality, Sherman Grimm, has died.
Grimm's wife Sonja confirmed that news to TheNewsCenter Saturday evening.
Grimm was a popular radio disc jockey in the 1950s before coming to WTAP-TV.
Grimm was known for his mellow radio voice.
He later was one of a group of local owners of WTAP and remained as GM when Benedek Broadcasting bought the station in about 1980.
He retired in the late 1980s.
Leavitt's of Belpre will likely handle arrangements.
Sherman Grimm was 91.
