Man missing in Gallia County found safe

GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) - UPDATE: 3/29/19 6:10 P.M.

Gallia County authorities have located a man they say went missing on Monday.

Sheriff Matt Champlain said late Friday that Andrew Smeck, 29, had been found and was safe. He did not provide additional details.

Authorities began looking for Smeck after he was reported missing after driving away from his residence in a while Dodge pickup truck on Monday morning.


Gallia County authorities are asking for the public's help to find a missing man.

The Gallia County sheriff's office said Andrew Smeck, 29, was last seen Monday morning as he was leaving his home near Gallipolis.

He is believed to be driving a white Dodge pickup truck with Ohio license-plate number E7018.

Smeck is 5-feet-4 inches tall and has brown hair and eyes. He weighs about 170 pounds.

Deputies said he may be suffering from medical and mental-health problems.
