Gospel Mission Food Pantry gets suprise donation
It's an early Christmas present for Marietta's Gospel Mission food pantry.
Hall Financial Advisors, which this year established its own giving foundation, surprised Director Candy Waite Thursday afternoon with a new commercial refrigerator/freezer.
It added $1,000 worth of donated canned and non-perishable food items.
Waite says the new appliances have been needed for a long time.
"The refrigerators and freezers we have are old, and this is going to help us quite a bit," she said. "We won't have to worry about putting stuff out, and we'll know where it's at. We'll know our freezers and refrigerators are going to work when we get donations."
In all, the foundation donated $10,000 in food and goods to the pantry.
The Gospel Mission Pantry provides food, clothing and other items to the needy.
