Gov. Justice to announce new effort to fight drug problem

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WTAP) - West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice plans to announce a new drug-recovery initiative on Thursday.

A news conference with officials from Recovery Point, which has a location on Emerson Avenue in Parkersburg, and UnitedHealthcare is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the State Capitol in Charleston.

Details of the initiative haven't been released, but a news released from the governor's office has it will be to "fight opioid and drug misuse" in the state.
