WOOD COUNTY, W.Va.-(WTAP) Wood County prepares for a visit from West Virginia Governor Jim Justice.
The governor is scheduled to visit Conley Manufacturing near Mineral Wells next Tueeday. He is due to arrive at 5:30 P.M.
Company President Roger Conley hopes the governor can unite Republicans going into the 2020 election, and that there's good reason to be optimistic.
"There are just so many positive things happening, and we have to continue that trend," Conley said Friday. "That's what this is all about; it's a campaign stop for the governor, but his is also an opportunity to bring the Republicans in Wood County and across the state together, to make sure we're united going into 2020, and make sure we're all on the same page."
Justice has faced opposition within his own party, with at least one county's GOP committee giving him a vote of "no confidence".
The visit is being organized by his re-election committtee.
