Parkersburg, W.Va. (WTAP)- January is the biggest month of the year for gym memberships.
A new year gives people the opportunity to set new goals for themselves.
For some, it means regular exercise.
Once January hits many want to hit the gym to work on all of the fitness goals they didn't achieve in the year prior.
Fitness trainers at WVU Medicine's Health and Wellness Center say there are several ways to make sure your resolution lasts.
Health experts say it takes just 60 days to develop a new habit, so make exercise part of your daily routine.
"One of the biggest things is to start a routine, make it a routine and make it a daily type of thing that you want to add to your lifestyle, says Patrick Prine, Fitness & Exercise Coordinator.
Prine adds, “You can do as little as 20 minutes a day of exercise and that would be better than nothing."
“Definitely come down to the Camden Clark Health & Wellness Center. We’ll help you get started. We have a great facility and staff that will help you add this to your lifestyle,” says Prine.
