PARKERSBURG, W. Va. (WTAP) - As the threat for rain continues over the next 24 hours, flood watches and warnings remain in effect across the viewing area.
Over 2 inches of rain has fallen over most of the region as of Wednesday afternoon.
Creeks, streams, and rivers have all risen due to the heavy rains that have fallen most of the day on Wednesday.
Areas of Core Road, St. Mary’s Pike, and College Parkway were all covered in water in Wood County.
Authorities also report high-water affecting several roads in Washington and Athens counties.
The high water threat also prompted schools in the Megis, Noble and Frontier districts to send students home early this afternoon.
