With a heavy amount of snowfall in the Mid-Ohio Valley on Friday, snow plow and salt trucks take to the streets.
WTAP was able to sit inside and ride with a driver of one of the snow plow trucks at the Wood County post of the West Virginia Division of Highways.
They are responsible for cleaning most of the back roads that do not classify as highways in Wood County. The plows go between Parkersburg, Vienna, and Williamstown.
This post has 17 trucks, and they all started plowing the roads once they became slick, which was around 1 a.m.
They will not finish until the roads are completely clean, which could be around Friday evening at least.
