UPDATE: 5/19/20 10:00 A.M.
Monday’s multi-vehicle accident on Grand Central Avenue resulted in the death of a Parkersburg man, authorities say.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office says that Jeremiah Anderson, 43, died after failing to yield while turning left on to Grand Park Drive. Anderson’s northbound 2002 white Chevy Silverado struck a southbound 2014 red Dodge Dart with two occupants.
Law enforcement says that Anderson and two others were transported to the hospital where Anderson later died. They added that the people in the Dodge Dart have what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
After the initial collision, authorities say the Silverado also traveled into the Sleep Outfitters parking lot and hit a parked, unoccupied Nissan Frontier.
Deputies say Anderson was not wearing a seat belt.
