JULEPS playground set to start construction

PARKERSBURG, W. Va. (WTAP) - JULEPS playground is set to begin phase two of construction next week at City Park.

The playground was remolded a few years ago and now it will be expanding by adding ramp access for wheelchair accessibility and synthetic turf.

This expansion will make it safer for children and add more playground activities.

The playground will be accessible for over 100 children.

John Davis of Davis Athletics is excited about getting the project completed.

"All of the monuments around the pond area, all of the events they have here, all of the shelters are booked throughout the summer, spring, and fall and to have the playground for kids to play on is going to provide that much more opportunity for people when they're visiting the park," said Davis.

Davis is hoping to have the playground completed by Thanksgiving if weather permits.
