UPDATE: John Legend speaks at campaign event in Ohio

An Ohio native visited his home state to urge Ohioans to get out and vote.

Singer John Legend took the stage in Hamilton County to rally Democratic supporters.

He talked about affordable healthcare and the agenda of the Republican Party.

After he addressed the crowd, Legend sang a brief, improvised tune about Election Day.

Singer John Legend will be encouraging Americans to vote in the upcoming midterm elections.

Legend will be in Ohio Sunday.

He'll be the featured performer at a “Get out the Vote” event for the Hamilton County Democratic Party.

The event also coincides with a so-called "Souls to the Polls" campaign. It intends to encourage those headed to houses of worship on Sunday to get out and vote.

This isn't the first time Legend has taken the political stump. He was in Florida last month at an event supporting voting rights for felons.
