Lawmakers approve ear protection for Ohio motorcyclists

A bill on the way to Gov. Mike DeWine is aimed at protecting the hearing of motorcyclists.
The legislation would allow motorcyclists to wear earplugs or earphones while on their bikes.
The Senate passed the bill unanimously on Wednesday. It was previously passed by the House.
Sen. Rob McColley, a Republican from Napoleon in northwestern Ohio, said noise from the wind and engines can produce severe hearing damage for motorcyclists. Motorcyclists would not be allowed to listen to music while riding under the measure.
It's unclear whether DeWine is planning to sign the bill.
