PARKERSBURG, W. Va. (WTAP)- Lifeguards serve an important role when it comes to the public safety in pools, but are there enough this year to keep you safe?
Michael Bishman of Professional Pool Management said there is a shortage of lifeguards to staff the nine swimming pools across the Mid-Ohio Valley, including the Marietta Aquatic Center and Parkersburg City pools.
In total, PPM expects to employ over 200 people this summer. He said the demand for lifeguards is similar to this time last year.
