Local Democrats are also preparing to hear what the candidates will discuss that will be of benefit to the area.
The chairwoman of Washington County's Democratic party hopes to hear ideas that will turn around the economy in Southeast Ohio.
She says the region has not yet rebounded from the Great Recession of a decade ago.
"We see a lot of growth in the urban areas, particularly around Columbus," Willa O'Neill explained. "But I don't think that has been the case all around the state, especially in rural areas, where we are still lagging behind as far as good paying jobs, public education funding."
The debate will be held at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio, near Columbus.
Ironically, one candidate who did not qualify for the CNN-televised debate is Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan.
