Local business fundraises for Wood County Sheriff’s K-9 unit

PARKERSBURG, W.Va (WTAP)- A local business held a first time event Saturday afternoon that is geared towards helping Wood County’s cutest law enforcement officers.

The Crazy Bone Pet Spa in Parkersburg held their first ever Dog Days of Summer kickoff event with prizes, games, and opportunities for dogs and their owners to socialize.

At the event, the business also fundraised for the Wood County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit.

They say that this kind of event is a way for them to make a difference in the community.

“We do try to stay involved in the community. The community of Parkersburg has been very supportive of our business, it’s grown very fast and we’re really appreciative of that, so we always try to give back. For this particular event, we’ve chosen to give back to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department. Their K-9 units do very important work in our community so we just really want to help support them,” explains Brett Lyons, owner of the business.

Crazy Bone Pet Spa hopes to make the fundraiser an annual event.
