MARIETTA OH, (WTAP)- Charity organizations and food pantries across the Mid-Ohio Valley spent months preparing to care for those less fortunate over the holidays. But now that they’re over, many of them are in need of donations again as the cold months continue.
The Gospel Mission Food Pantry has leftover donations from the holidays but says it expects those resources to be used quickly.
“We were blessed with a lot of donations at Christmas time but like I say, it does go quickly with the amount of people we see come through the doors of Gospel Mission Food Pantry. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and very much needed…We do see an increase in people that come in when it gets colder weather. The utilities increase, the heating cost increase. This month is going to be a long month for a lot of people,” says Candy Waite, the Director of the Gospel Mission Food Pantry.
The Gospel Mission Food Pantry has helped over 125,000 people since 2013.
