PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Lottery fever is here in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
The Mega Millions jackpot is now at an estimated $530 million.
This is the first time since last October, the jackpot has surpassed the $500 million mark.
WTAP stopped by the Peoples News in South Parkersburg Thursday to see if people were buying lottery tickets.
Some say they didn’t want to miss the chance to be the big winner.
“I was paying a bill and they said hey it’s way up there you better get you one so they talked me into it," said Shawn Bailey, a Parkersburg resident.
Bailey said he would take his wife to a nice dinner if he won the lottery.
"I’d quit my job, buy a Maserati, and give most of it away, I really think I’d probably give a lot of it away," said Patty Denoon, a Parkersburg resident.
The drawing for the Mega Millions is Friday night at 11. The winning numbers will be posted Friday night at the link in the Related Links section of the article.
