STANLY COUNTY, N.C. - (WTAP) - UPDATE: 12/5/19 12 p.m.
Sasha Naylor, 25
Two men have been charged with accessory after murder in the investigation into the death of a former Parkersburg woman who disappeared in North Carolina in August 2018, authorities said.
Jeremy Glenn Dugan, 35, of Albermarle, N.C., and Paul Daniel Rubio, 26, of Norwood, N.C., were arrested this week in Stanly County, North Carolina, in connection to the death of Sasha Naylor, 25.
The Stanly County Sheriff's Department said Thursday the two men are each being held on a $250,000 bond at separate facilities elsewhere in North Carolina. They are scheduled to appear in court on Monday in Albermarle County.
According to a post on the Stanly County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page, Dugan was arrested on Monday and Rubio on Tuesday. Authorities have not released information about the arrests or why they think Dugan and Rubio are connected to the investigation.
Naylor was pregnant when she disappeared and was due to give birth in February, authorities said.
Her body has not been found, but authorities eventually recovered her burned vehicle before charging a boyfriend, Joseph Rhodes, 31, with two counts of first-degree murder in February.
Rhodes, who was already in custody on unrelated drug charges when he was charged in Naylor’s death, is being held in a facility separate from Dugan and Rubio. He has denied the allegations.
At the time of Naylor’s disappearance, her mother, Juanita Mayo, 51, lived in Parkersburg, but she died a few days after finding out that Rhodes had been charged.
Sasha Naylor's family is planning a celebration of life service for her mother, Juanita Mayo.
51-year-old Juanita Mayo of Parkersburg died the week of March 4th shortly after learning that a suspect had been charged with two counts of murder in the death of her daughter and unborn grandchild.
Saturday's service will be at 1 p.m. at the Friendship Kitchen on Emerson Avenue in Parkersburg.
