Man and woman in Marietta arrested for allegedly growing marijuana

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - A man and woman living together in Marietta are arrested for allegedly growing marijuana.

The Washington County Major Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant for Edward Minke on Tuesday. He lives in the 600 block of 10th Street in Marietta. He was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

Agents say while he was being arrested, he mentioned he had marijuana plants growing in the house. When agents went inside, they say they found two separate growing operations on the second floor. One of the growing operations was a few feet from a four-year-old's bedroom.

Agents collected 15 marijuana plants that weighed a little over three pounds in total. The man is charged with Illegal Cultivation of Marijuana.

Marie Powell is charged with Child Endangerment. She was in the house when Minke was being arrested. She told agents she was aware of the marijuana growing in the house.
