The additional rape charges and one count of felonious assault were added in a grand jury indictment returned on Dec. 31.
According to the indictment, the incidents occurred between August 1991 and 2012 and involved at least seven victims who were juveniles at the time.
Decker is scheduled to appear in Washington County Common Pleas Court for a pre-trial hearing on Jan. 24 and a trial is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 25.
He remains in the Washington County Jail.
A Marietta man was arrested on Sunday on one count of rape Sunday for acts that allegedly took place when the victim was a child, and police said they have identified several more potential victims.
Richard Curtis Decker Jr., 62, was arraigned Monday morning in Marietta Municipal Court where a judge a $500,000 bond and scheduled a preliminary hearing for 1 p.m. Dec. 31.
Decker is accused of sexually assaulting a woman, who is now in her 30s, when she was between 5 and 18 years old, Marietta Police said.
According to police, the woman named Decker as a suspect in an interview with authorities in October. She said she could not recall how many times she was sexually assaulted but that it “occurred on a frequent basis.”
When questioned after his arrest on Sunday, police said Decker told detectives that he had sex with the woman as a child but that it was not meant to be rape or molestation. Instead, said “he was teaching the victim how to satisfy” her partner or husband.
Police said Monday that their investigation has turned up at least a half-dozen more potential victims.
According to police, Decker was indicted on a gross-sexual-imposition charge in Washington County n 1992 and found guilty of a lesser charge.
