Man sought in robbery of Fairmont bank

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WTAP) - Authorities are looking for a man suspected in the robbery of a bank in Fairmont Monday morning.

In a Facebook post, Fairmont Police said officers were called to the BC Bank on East Park Avenue about 10:45 a.m. after a 40- to 50-year-old white man "entered the bank and demanded money with the threat of a weapon."

Police said the suspect is about 6-foot-2 with salt-and-pepper hair and a
salt-and-pepper goatee. He was wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, a black Under Armour ball cap, a blue bandanna and tennis shoes.

Police said he left the bank on foot, but they are looking for a red and white cruiser-style motorcycle that traveled toward Interstate 79 that might be connected to the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or Fairmont Police at 304-366-4200.
