Marietta Community Foundation has new hardship and disaster fund
The Marietta Community Foundation started the Washington County hardship and disaster relief fund.
This program will help people in the community that encounter emergency situations such as unexpected funeral costs, home modifications, and help for local children in need among other needs.
The program recently received a $20,000 donation and is excited to be able to help those in need, but are always accepting donations.
"For extra curricular activities or if let's say a teacher or guidance counselor sees a child in need of a winter coat or boots," said Heather Allender, Marietta Community Foundation, president-CEO. So all of those needs are combined into this program and we use it quite often and we just hope to expand its use through this wonderful donation that we just received."
You must be a Washington County resident to apply. For more information visit https://www.mcfohio.org/hardship-disaster-relief
