MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - A longtime community organization is getting ready for its biggest fundraiser of the year.
The Kiwanis Club of Marietta will be hosting its 65th Pancake Days Friday and Saturday at First Congregational Church on Front Street.
Organizers say the event serves up over 8,000 flapjacks and has raised over $20,000 in past years.
Open to the public, the two-day event offers pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee, as well as silent auctions and raffle prizes. It starts Friday at 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. and then again from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, the event will run a little longer, starting at 7:00 a.m and running til 2:00 p.m. before a short break and then a final session from 4 to 7:00 p.m.
"Instead of hosting a lot of different small fundraisers," member Sarah Arnold said, "this is the one event that we use to fund all of our service projects throughout the entire year."
Tickets can be bought in advance for $5 at People's News in Marietta or Vogue Swift Cleaners. At the door, tickets will be $8.
