Marietta school offers free introductory welding class for area residents

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - West Virginia and Ohio residents can learn and practice basic welding skills at a free, 3-hour class in Marietta on Thursday, March 7.

The Washington County Career Center’s Adult Technical Training Center, located at 21740 State Route 676 in Marietta, will host an "Intro to Welding" class on Thursday, March 7, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The event will allow first-time welders to get hands-on training from a trained welding instructor on Tig, MIG and Stick welding, and current welders are also invited to attend to learn a new welding process.

The event is free for residents of West Virginia and Ohio, and organizers will supply safety apparel and welding materials for the training.

All participants are required to wear closed-toe shoes, a long sleeve shirt, and long pants.
