MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A Mason County woman has been indicted on child-abuse charges, court documents show.

Roxanne Bonecutter, 35, of Fraziers Bottom, is charged with child abuse resulting in injury. She was indicted earlier this month by a grand jury in Mason County.

According to the indictment, the abuse happened in April and May of this year. Bonecutter allegedly bruised the child with a belt and shoved and held the victim underwater during a cold bath, creating “a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.”

Investigators say Bonecutter also withheld food from the victim.

Bonecutter’s bond was $100,000. She is not a current inmate in the West Virginia Regional Jail system, according to its website.
