PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - We now have the last Jan Dils' Golden Apple Award Winner for the 2018 school year!
It was given to Danny Tennant, who has been working at Parkersburg Catholic High School for 35 years.
Tennant has done everything from coaching football and wrestling, to teaching physical education, and even teaching driver's ed.
He says he gets to teach the fun and laid back classes and has always known teaching was his "calling."
Tennant has made PCHS a family affair by sending seven of his own children to the same school he graduated from.
"The school itself is an extended family. So, all my children went to school here, my wife graduated from here, I graduated from here. All the kids that come here, I'm sure they would tell you they feel like an extended family."
Tennant has also been known for his role in organizing the annual Battle Against Cystic Fibrosis football game in Parkersburg to raise money for those suffering from Cystic Fibrosis.
