PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) UPDATE: 10/1/19 3:40 P.M.
McKinley Elementary School in Parkersburg will re-open on Wednesday after being closed for a day while officials fixed damage caused by an electrical problem.
The school was closed on Tuesday after Wood County Schools Superintendent William Hosaflook said a power surge "tripped several fuses and damaged some appliances."
The surge damaged a dishwater booster pump, but Hosaflook did not
have an estimate on the damage.
He said maintenance officials were working on fixing the problems Tuesday afternoon and that everything will be ready for students to return to school on Wednesday.
