Meigs County man dies from injuries sustained in Nov. 1 crash

MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) - An 81-year-old Meigs County man has died from injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle crash on Nov. 1.

Wesley D. Manley of Pomeroy died Monday at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, according to the Gallipolis post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The patrol said Manley was driving a Ford Ranger pickup west on Country Road 24, also known as Union Avenue, that failed to yield at a stop sign and was hit by a 2018 Freightliner truck that was traveling north on State Route 7. The crash happened about 1:20 p.m. on Friday.

The truck driver, James L. Ridenour, 84, of Middleport, was not injured, the patrol said. Both drivers were wearing safety belts, the patrol said.

The crash remains under investigation.
