MARIETTA OH, (WTAP)- Sufficient Grace Ministries held their second of two memorial gown sewing days on Saturday in Marietta.
The gowns and wraps are created from donated wedding and solid colored prom dresses and are for babies who don’t make it home from the hospital.
The group distributes these dresses all over Ohio and hopes to complete upwards of 40 gowns and wraps.
Some of the volunteers have a close connection to the cause.
“I have two diseased grandchildren that were stillborn at birth, full term and it’s really made an impact on my life and understanding somewhat what women go through that have to deal with miscarriages and stillborn births,” says Pat Ralston, a volunteer with the event.
If you have a dress you’d like to donate, you can visit the Facebook group MOV Memorial Gowns for more information about how and where to donate dresses.
