An 18-year-old Nelsonville man is facing rape and other charges involving as many as six juveniles, authorities said.
Brandon T. Humphrey was charged with five counts of first-degree rape and three counts of gross-sexual imposition by an Athens County grand jury on Monday. The crimes allegedly occurred between July 2015 and June 2018.
Prosecuting Attorney Keller Blackburn said, Humphrey, who is being held in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, was previously indicted on charges of rape, sexual battery and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
Blackburn said the new charges stem from a bind over from juvenile court for allegations that occurred when Humphrey was younger than 18.
Blackburn said Humphrey agreed to the bind-over and was scheduled to enter a plea on two different occasions but did not follow through. Prosecutors plan to seek a joinder of the cases.
