MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - The Chancellor of the Ohio Department of High Education visited Washington State Community College in Marietta on Tuesday.
Randy Gardner has been touring schools across Ohio throughout the year, and the Mid-Ohio Valley was on Tuesday's lists as he also visited Ohio University earlier in the day.
Gardner was taken on a tour of the school, as they were showing off new facilities such as a new technology center, new additions to the health wing, and land that will be used in partnership with Marietta City schools.
Gardner appreciates how quickly community colleges, specifically in Ohio, work to get their students prepared for life after their college careers.
"The new, emerging partnership here in this part of the state is exciting," said Gardner. "The turnover to get things done is what's really impressive about community colleges and technical colleges around Ohio."
Washington State Community College is the 62nd school in Ohio that Gardner has visited in 2019.
