MEDINA, Ohio (CNN) - An Ohio judge has ordered a suspected serial killer to undergo psychological treatment for up to four months.
Samuel Legg III appeared for a competency hearing Friday morning on charges from a 1997 rape at a truck stop.
An independent psychologist says Legg has not responded well to prescription medication and is still psychotic.
The prosecutor argued Legg is competent to stand trial.
The judge agreed to the recommendation for the four months of further psychological treatment.
Legg was extradited from Arizona to Ohio for the rape case.
Authorities say they have also linked him through DNA to at least four unsolved homicides from the 1990s. He has been indicted in one of those cases.
