Man hurt in a two-vehicle crash

WAVERLY, W.Va. (WTAP) - Two cars crashed into each other at Route 2 and Corbitt Hill Road in Waverly Wednesday afternoon, sending one driver to the hospital and causing traffic delays for more than an hour.

It happend about 3:15 p.m.

According to the Wood County Sheriff's Office, a man driving a white pickup truck pulled out of Corbitt Hill Road onto Route 2 and was hit by a van traveling south.

The elderly driver of the pickup truck, who hasn't been identified, was taken to WVU Medicine Camden Clark Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the van was not hurt.

Firefirefighters had to cut away the driver's side door to get the man out of the pickup.

The Waverly Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash, which remains under investivation by deputies.
