Parkersburg City Council approves Christmas Eve Holiday

Parkersburg, WV (WTAP)-- Parkersburg City Council is considering selling the Memorial Bridge but had to modified the terms of the project.

No company successfully bid for the project when it included a total rebuild.

Each company that expressed interest concluded it would cost too much to demolish and rebuild totally.

So council has modified their resolution to sell, operate and refurbish the bridge.

In other news, Council approved the mass transit bus system levy for the May Ballot. The city of Vienna also had approved the levy for the ballot earlier.

Finally. Council also approved giving city employees a full holiday when Christmas Eve falls on a week day.
