Parkersburg Homecoming wraps up with Day 3

PARKERSBURG, W. Va. (WTAP) - Although it was a very hot day on Sunday, some Parkersburg Homecoming faithful were able to bear the heat and watch the 18th annual Johnny Staats Bluegrass Festival. The performance included special guests, Robert Shafer and Bobby Taylor.

"It's been amazing, I really love the concerts, I'm very excited to experience the duck race and I'm just really excited to just close out this and be a part of it," said Allie Spiker, Parkersburg Homecoming Teen.

"It's just really been an honor to be the queen of this festival. It is such historical and unique festival itself. So to be able to represent is a true honor especially not being from this area," Caylie Simmons, Parkersburg Homecoming queen.

Caylie Simmons is a Franklin, West Virginia native.

Unfortunately, the hot dog and donut eating contests were cancelled.

Sunday will conclude with the rubber duck derby and the ZZ Top tribute band.
