Parkersburg USBC hosts 3rd annual bowling tournament

PARKERSBURG, W. Va. The Parkersburg USBC (United States Bowling Congress) hosted its 3rd annual top of the 'Burg Scratch Tournament.

Tournament organizers are excited to celebrate its third year and says, participation has increased every year. The tournament is dedicated to high scoring or scratch bowlers. Scratch bowlers normally average a score of 200.

"It's really big because for the longest time we were always getting told, we don't have anything going on for the scratch bowlers or the high average bowlers so we decided we'd get one started," said Adam Corbitt, Parkersburg USBC, association president.

The Parkersburg USBC is hoping the tournament continues to grow and hopes to get a sponsorship.

First place of the tournament wins $500.
