PARKERSBURG, W. Va. (WTAP) - Ms. Mildred "Millie" Gault was born at home in Parkersburg on Progress Ridge Road and Tuesday, she turned 100 years old.
"It's just amazing, it's just amazing and it makes me want to cry. So many people came," said Mildred Gault.
Ms. Millie is excited to be surrounded by her family and friends. She is a resident of the Love and Care Assisted Living facility. Many family members traveled to make it for her special day.
Mildred's son, Donald just feels blessed to still have his mom with him.
“Well it’s unreal, I'm an only child and for her to live to be 100 is really special because she doesn't have many relatives left and so that's really special," said Donald Gault, son.
Over the years, Ms. Millie has been very active in church and that’s where she met many of her friends.
Deadra Cook works at the facility and says Ms. Millie stays very active.
"She just flies up and down the hall, she remembers everything. Her mind is very clear. She’s very social. She comes out all the time and plays games and when it’s nice outside she walks around the facility twice every day," said Deadra Cook, Love and Care Assisted Living, administrator.
Ms. Millie says, she credits her health for allowing her to see 100 years old.
