Fallen Airman returns home, escorted through Parkersburg by Patriot Guard riders

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - A fallen member of the United States Air Force is brought home to Parkersburg, West Virginia, Thursday night.

Law enforcement officials along with the Patriot Guard riders from American Legion Post 15 escorted the remains of Airman First Class Evan R. Parker, 20, of Parkersburg, W.Va. through the city.

Parker died August, 25, 2019 while stationed at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, Nevada.

His remains were flown from Las Vegas, Nevada to Columbus, Ohio where he was escorted to Parkersburg, W.Va..

The procession traveled from American Legion Post 15 up Emerson Avenue, down Dudley Avenue stopping at Parkersburg High School.

Parker was born April 23, 1999. The 20-year-old graduated from Parkersburg High School in 2017.

His family says he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 7, 2019, Point Park, Parkersburg WV at 6:00 PM.
