UPDATE: McDonald's robber sentenced to 4 years in prison

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - UPDATE: 12/4/18 3 P.M.

A Wisconsin man who robbed the Marietta McDonald's at gunpoint in August was sentenced to four years in prison Tuesday morning in Washington County Common Pleas Court.

Donald Sirrell pleaded guilty one count of aggravated robbery in October.

Sirrell admitted to authorities after his arrest in August that he had robbed the restaurant located on Glendale Road. He also told them where he hid the money and a gun.

UPDATE: 10/26/18

Sirrell pleaded guilty at his final pretrial hearing Friday in Washington County Common Pleas Court.

He pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated robbery. The second charge of robbery in his indictment, was dismissed.

His sentencing is scheduled for December 4 at 8:30 a.m.

UPDATE: 9/24/18 3:55 P.M.

A Wisconsin man accused of robbing the Marietta McDonald's is scheduled to stand trial on Nov. 7 in Washington County Common Pleas Court.

Donald Sirrell, 58, appeared in court on Monday for a pre-trial hearing.

After his arrest in August, authorities said Sirrell admitted to the robbery and told them where he hid the money and his gun.

A grand jury indicted Sirrell on aggravated robbery and robbery charges in August.

He remains in the Washington County Jail.

UPDATE 8/20/18

Sirrell made his first court appearance Monday morning at Marietta Municipal Court.

His bond was set for $250,000 and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 22 at 3:30 p.m. in municipal court.


Police arrest a Wisconsin man for allegedly robbing a Marietta McDonald's at gunpoint Friday night.

The incident happened at the McDonalds on Glendale Road just after 11 p.m. on Friday.

Marietta Police arrested Donald Sirrell, 58, Saturday morning.

He was found at a hotel on Second Street in Marietta.

Police tell us he admitted to the robbery and told them where the gun and money he allegedly stole was.

He’s charged with aggravated robbery which is a first degree felony. He’s currently in jail and will be arraigned Monday morning.
