UPDATE: Police find man who escaped from Beckley Correctional Center

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WTAP) - UPDATE 5/14/19 10:50 P.M.

William Lee Baker was apprehended by the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department without incident in Beckley Tuesday evening.


Police are looking for a work-release inmate that escaped from the Beckley Correctional Center. His name is William Lee Baker.

Investigators say William Lee Baker, 41, failed to return Tuesday afternoon. He was serving a one -to 10-year sentence for fraud, burglary, drug and other charges. committed in Harrison, Lewis and Marion counties.

Baker is 5-foot-7 and weighs 138 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing khaki pants, a gray sweatshirt and orange toboggan.
