Power outage doesn't stop Parkersburg Council Meeting

PARKERSBURG, WV (WTAP)-- Despite power outages in the downtown area Monday evening, Parkersburg City Council held their first meeting of the New Year.

Incoming Council President Mike Reynolds conducted business in the dimly lit council chamber despite the lack of microphones and amplification system.

"Fairness for Parkersburg" streamed the meeting live, despite the limitations.

Among the resolutions considered were two pilot programs splitting 50-50 the cost of diseased tree removal or sidewalk replacement with property owners.

The tree removal measure passed but the sidewalk repair measure was referred back to the Finance Committee.
