RAVENSWOOD, W.Va. (WTAP) - It was a hot day for Ravenswood Middle School students, who started the 2019 school year today. Fortunately, they attended classes in a brand new, air-conditioned building.

The new middle school connects to the high school, though very little common area is shared with the high-schoolers.

The new building features colorful, modern hallways and classrooms and a new library.

Principal Mike Erwin said the new school year started smoothly with only a few students getting lost in the new building.

“It’s actually went pretty well," he said. "Very little wrinkles. Coming into a brand new school, you can expect little hiccups, but between the staff and the kids, it’s really gone, gone very well.”
