Rep. Bill Johnson visits school, honors teacher for 30 years in education

BEVERLY, Ohio (WTAP) - Representative Bill Johnson (R - Ohio 6th) stopped by Fort Frye High School Thursday.

The congressman talked to a government class about his job, how his work affects the area and the importance of being engaged in the political process.

Johnson also surprised their teacher, John Bostic, with a proclamation honoring his 30 years of service in education.

"When I can recognize someone like John Bostic," Johnson said, "that has invested 30 years of his life into training up and teaching the next generation, I like to do that."

"It made me really happy. He's a great teacher," said Aliyah Potts, a senior and student in Mr. Bostic's class. "I mean a lot of people say that he's really strict but he's only strict because he wants you to do well, he just really cares about his students."

Bostic has served all 30 years of his career in education for the Fort Frye school district.
