Second annual pet tricks and parade raises money for Ely Chapman scholarships
The second annual Super Stupendous Pet Tricks and Perfectly Precious Pet Parade event was held Sunday afternoon at the People’s Bank Theater in Marietta.
All types of pets were welcome to participate in the parade and tricks competition. Animal trainers showcased dogs trained in agility, search and rescue, and law enforcement.
The funds for the event are to provide scholarships for students enrolled in Ely Chapman preschool, summer school, and after school programs.
“I think that the community needs to know that these programs for our community are very important. There’s a number of people out there that need to give their kids the extra support and help that they need but sometimes times are hard and people need that extra help. People coming and attending projects like this can help out some individuals that really can use the help,” explains Gary Williams, development director at Ely Chapman.
Last year, this event raised around $2,500.
