Sen. Graham drums up support for bill limiting late-term abortions

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) rallied crowds at the annual Conservative Political Action Committee conference right outside of Washington, D.C.

There were cheers and applause as Graham touted President Trump’s accomplishments around the world.

“Why is the caliphate destroyed? Because Trump let the military do its job," he said, to the large crowd filling the ballroom.

From the battle fields abroad to the political conflicts here at home, Graham has skyrocketed to the forefront of his party. He has made a name for himself in the past year by being instrumental in getting Brett Kavanaugh onto the nation’s top court.

“Why is Kavanaugh on the court? Because Trump is tough," he said in his CPAC speech

Graham, one of the President’s most powerful allies on Capitol Hill, is using this platform, the conservative's major yearly event, to push for tougher abortion restrictions.

“We’re one of 7 nations that allow abortion on demand in the 5th month and I’m ready to get out of that club, aren’t you?”

This year, Graham is using his voice to drum up support for a bill that would limit late-term abortions…the legislation comes as conservatives rally around this issue nationally.

The conference is just getting warmed up, with Friday’s appearance from Vice President Mike Pence and Saturday’s much anticipated speech from President Trump coming off of his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.
