PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - September 11, 2001 is one of the most tragic days in the history of the United States. Several places in the Mid-Ohio Valley are having their own remembrances ceremonies to honor those who gave their lives in the destruction.

- Parkersburg High School: 9/11 Memorial Service at 7:30 a.m. at the flag pole in fron of the school. The PHS A Cappella Choir will sing the National Anthe. Members of local police and emergency departments have been invited to attend.
- WVU at Parkersburg: Remembrance ceremony on September 11 at 10 a.m. at the flagpole in front of the main building.
- Marietta College: Remembrance ceremony on September 11 at 8:45 a.m. at the flagpole on The Christy Mall. Brenden Smith ’22, who is majoring in both Music Therapy and Vocal Ensemble, will sing the Star-Spangled Banner and President Bill Ruud will follow with remarks to commemorate the day.
- Washington State Community College: Remembrance ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on the front lawn of the WSCC campus. Guests include the Marietta High School Vocal Point Choir, The Marine Corps League Sgt. Bob O’Malley Detachment 1436, The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5108 and The American Legion Post 64.
