Sobriety checkpoint scheduled Friday night on Route 47

WOOD COUNTY, W.Va. (WTAP) - The West Virginia State Police has scheduled a sobriety checkpoint from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday on Route 47 in front of the State Police detachment.

There will be an alternate checkpoint site located on Route 14 in Boaz.

The purpose of the checkpoint is to deter impaired drivers and to educate the public about the dangers of driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
